Walking with Elephants Activity & Photography
I am passionate about protecting nature and conserving our planet for future generations. I am always eager to take part in volunteer or conservation projects, and I love telling stories about my experiences.

Walking with elephants - Sanctuary Stanley's, Okavango Delta, Botswana
Sanctuary Stanley's in the Okavango Delta lies on a 260,000 acre private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. It provides the 'Living with Elephants' activity, which is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about these majestic animals and the importance of conserving wildlife.
I travelled to Sanctuary Stanley’s in the Okavango Delta as part of the Go2Africa ‘Rapids’ team, to be able to experience the ‘Walking with Elephants’ activity and to learn about this amazing conservation project. This allowed me to communicate their story successfully to overseas travellers, and to include this activity in my clients’ safari itineraries. I am passionate about conserving wildlife and looking after our planet, so I really wanted to create more awareness for travellers coming to Africa.
The activity itself is a life changing experience and opens your eyes and heart to the African bush and astonishing wildlife. In the morning our team walked alongside the elephants, whilst Doug and Sandi Grove (their guardians), told us about each elephant’s story and why they were looking after them. Looking after these elephants in the wild is a big job and being there in person makes you understand the importance of raising awareness for the protection of Africa’s wildlife.
Main tasks for activity:
1. Experiencing the conservation activity first-hand to be able to raise awareness through sales and marketing efforts.
2. Using my own conservation experience and photography skills to promote these projects to international travellers (main market from America, the UK and Australia).
3. Gain wider attention for conservation projects by creating marketing write-ups for social media to promote these projects to travellers coming to Africa for holidays.
