Website Design

Unique Website Design

Website design Project for The Fashion and Footwear Illustrator. The complete project included designing a website from scratch, integrations, social media page setups and designing the courses in Teachable.

Website Design:

In the initial brief the client requested a beautiful, yet functional website that will link directly to an online school where she can sell her courses and where clients can schedule coaching sessions. The client wanted to showcase her drawings on the actual website to promote the courses and requested 6 static pages – Home, About, Blog, Coaching Page, Courses Page and a Contact Page. There was no website map required, as the client provided a link to a website which she really liked, and I based the design on the look and feel of that website.

I worked with the client to select a colour palette for the website, which will be used in all future branding material. It is good to have a selection of +-4 colours to work with throughout a website. The client also provided the fonts she liked. If you are putting a brief together and you don’t know the name of fonts, then you can have a look at Adobe Fonts to choose the fonts you would like to use on your website – https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts

The client provided all the videos and imagery for the website. Most designers can provide their own collateral for their websites. However, if you are selling a product and require stock photos for your website, then you can have a look at Adobe Stock for paid images https://stock.adobe.com/au/ It is recommended to request stock photos for your website, so you don’t have any copyright issues.

The website is responsive and has been optimised for tablet and mobile view.

Designing to various sizes

School Design in Teachable:

https://teachable.com/

I have registered a subdomain for theteachable website, which will link from the main website. All the courses have been set up on teachable, as well as the coaching sessions with times. https://courses.fashionandfootwearillustrator.com.au/

To set up the site in teachable, I had todesign the landing page and the course landing pages, which will link from the main website. Then each module is set up inside teachable with videos and notes.

There are different payment options inTeachable, it just depends on the size of your school and the features you require.

Handover:

During the design process all the passwords are saved for all the platforms used. The passwords will be handed over to you, and you will also be invited as an editor on the website. This means you will be able to add blog content to your website or update text as you need to. To edit the actual structure of the website once the website has been handed over, will be done by your designer at an additional cost. This averages on $100/hour, but will be quoted based on your brief.
