Conference: Magellan Conference Uluru Australia

Where2travel is part of the Magellan Travel Group, who provides sales and marketing support for Australian travel agencies. Magellan hosts an annual networking conference, which calls some of the biggest names in the travel industry. A long list of preferred partners includes some of the best know operators in the industry, like Scenic Tours, APT Travel Group, Adventure World, Back-Roads, Bunnik Tours, Intrepid and Viva Holidays to name a few.

Our most recent conference was held at Ayers Rock Resort's Sails in the Desert hotel in the Northern Territory. During the conference Magellan provided unique marketing sessions, where we learned about the new marketing trends in the industry, as well as new marketing tools to assist us to increase our revenue. During these marketing sessions I also met the dedicated sales representative for each tour operator and connected with them to plan future marketing campaigns. I had one-on-one sessions with the sales reps and talked about the types of co-op campaigns we could create.

During the conference we also experienced Uluru. I took part in the Kata Tjuta walking tour activity, which was organised by AAT Kings, and enjoyed a special dinner under the stars with Ayers Rock gleaming in the background. We also received a special performance by local Anangu people - they really warmed our hearts with song and dance. This was truly a magical experience, and a place I would return to in the near future.

Experiencing Uluru also provided me with the knowledge to be able to promote the destination to our clients. I used our travel photos to promote AAT Kings on our social media pages, and to create awareness around the activities offered.
