Travel Magazine Design
I have designed the last 7 editions of where2travel's Travel Magazine. I completed the full layout in Adobe InDesign, and did the complete layout autonomously, re-writing of the consultant's travel stories for marketing purposes, and completed the editing and proofing. I also managed a small team for the final proofing of the magazine before going to print. I prepared all the print files to the correct DTP specs and liaised with the printers to get the magazines printed and delivered in the given deadline.

Magazine Design
I design an online and printed magazine each quarter for where2travel. I do the complete layout inInDesign and design for print and digital. The magazine averages on 36-44 pages and include store updates, travel news and travel stories from all the travel agents. I coordinate travel deals with suppliers (for example Scenic Tours and APT), and request adverts from their marketing departments for the magazine. I also edit the travel agents’ stories and re-write where needed.
For this specific magazine, the design themes were selected based on travel seasons. A magazine can however be designed based on any theme you have in mind and can be geared towards your brand.
I do the pre-press for each of these magazines and make sure that the print files have crop marks, high resolution images and CMYK values.
Magazines do take along time to put together, especially if all the content and images have to be sourced. On average a magazine layout can take up to a month, depending on the brief.
